Describe your music...
...a chance to be yourself no matter who you are, what you wear or where you come from. It's intense, emotional and honest.
How did 'As Silence Breaks' come into being?
I'm not too sure on all the details, everything sort of just fell into place around two years ago, Con and Vegas were looking for a singer, I got in contact and it went from there. They sent me a few songs, I recorded the vocals at home and presto we had a band! Since then we parted with our old bass player and picked up Ethan who has fitted in perfectly. We'll just keep working hard and push things as far as they can be pushed.
Describe an average rehearsal for 'As Silence Breaks'? Where does it take place?
Hahaha rehearsal, yeah I'm not too sure on how much rehearsal gets done but we usually do it at Party Pig studios in Western Sydney, basically we'll turn up, catch up on all the stuff that's been happening, and then go sit in a room for 3 hours and throw ideas around, some of the best songs we've written have been done at that place and all our good friends go as well, Sienna Skies, Verona, Jack Napier we all started rehearsing there together makes for a good atmosphere.
Who would you most like to tour with and what tips would you ask them for?
Wow, anyone? Jeez ummm, well I'm sure all of us would have different bands, we all have different idols, but a huge thing with us is respect, we show bands respect no matter who they are even if they're the biggest band in the world. We've actually played with some of our favourite bands, Underoath, Parkway Drive and a bunch of others, what's good to know is how to get your name out there, that's basically all I'd ask a bigger band, the rest is up to us to work out for ourselves, learn from our mistakes! And I'm sure the boys would also ask where's the after party?!
But if we HAD to choose ...
Anthony - Avenged Sevenfold and Ligeia
Constantine - Avenged Sevenfold and Mourning Tide
Vegas - Avenged Sevenfold
Benjin - Killswitch Engage or Avenged Sevenfold
Ethan - Never See Tomorrow, Redevine or Mourning Tide
What do you do when you're not making music?
Most of us have shitty part time jobs, something to get a little money here and there, the band is everything to us we all have our hearts set on making this as big as we can. One of us flips burgers at hungry jacks ... haha.
What have you got planned for the future?
RECORD THE E.P. Get it released across Australia, tour our asses off, make a mark on the 'scene'. Other then that who knows where we'll end up, we've played all over the east coast, we wouldn't mind going further and playing shows in little towns who don't get a chance to see 'big' bands.
Australian music is...
...something to support.
Something to be proud of.
Something that everyone needs to get involved in.
